In 2019, RBC Future Launch and Riipen launched a partnership with the goal of increasing access to high-impact work-integrated learning (WIL) opportunities for Canadian post-secondary students Our shared mission: to help prepare learners, particularly those from underserved communities, for the Future of Work. By the end of 2022, the RBC-Riipen partnership has delivered over 27,000 online WIL experiences, to a wide diversity of learners and educational partners across Canada with the potential of delivering over 250,000 by 2026.

Cambrian College, renowned for its Analytics Capstone program, offers a unique opportunity for employers to collaborate with post-graduate learners seeking hands-on experience in analytics. As part of their curriculum, students engage in real-world projects, honing their skills while delivering tangible results for external partners. Learners, equipped with proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Excel, PowerBI, and Tableau, seek projects encompassing data analysis, programming, app development, and more. Employers are invited to facilitate this experiential learning journey by providing guidance, regular communication, and constructive feedback to student teams. Business Innovation - Fall 2025

Engage with third-year students from the Leadership and Management diploma program as they explore how innovation and emerging technologies can inspire creative business solutions. These students bring a diverse skill set that includes management, accounting, global business, global citizenship, organizational behaviour, economics, supply chain, customer relationship management, business research, ethics and EDI, marketing, and leadership. While these business majors are not technology specialists, they are familiar with platforms like Hootsuite (social media management platform), Salesforce (CRM), MsOffice (Word,PPT, Excel, Access, Outlook and collaborating with these via 365), some students may have gained skills in Weebly/Wix website development, Envision (consumer insights by Environics Analytics), Shopify (online store), social media (TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube), and Google Analytics. Students are often able to learn a new technology quickly and easily based on what they have already learned and achieved in their studies. This semester, we are offering students a selection of real-world challenges to choose from. You’re invited to submit a project idea aligned with your organization’s goals. Students will dedicate 40-80 hours over approximately 10 weeks (mid-Sept. to early Dec.) to researching, planning, and developing innovative recommendations in response to your proposed challenge.

Given the high number of requests, messages and requests submitted on Riipen will not be reviewed. All details and questions are discussed in the document below. Program Overview and Partnership Invitation Document This program has been run for 19 cohorts over 7 years and with 200+ partners. We work with 30+ partners every term. We will not be able to respond to messages on Riipen. Almost all questions are answered in the document above. Quick summary: students take this course to develop a software application (web, mobile, desktop, or AI related) for various use cases. Previous examples include: Specialized software for research Software for hospital teams, universities, non-profits Mobile apps for finding travelers in a specific community Web-based application for connecting a non-profit to volunteers If the project information interests you, please go through the steps mentioned in the document and submit a proposal and mention "Riipen" as how you found about us. After reviewing 300+ proposals, we have created a thorough process to streamline the process for all involved. We will not be able to accept requests on Riipen as the proposals need to be chosen by the students when the term begins. (See timeline for details). Biotech Capstone - Bench to bedside - (University of Toronto Fall 2025)

Students from UofT are keen on getting hands on experience in the Biotech industry. These Genetics stream students are well versed with all the latest tools of gene and genome editing and some double major in Statistics or Neuroscience . There is no strict limit on the group size, it could also be individual students or groups of students. In addition, it could be a summer project that involves more hours.
Consult for Impact: Real-World Consulting for Social Good
Consult for Impact is an experiential learning opportunity that encourages the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. Non-profit organizations and social start-ups will have the opportunity to receive pro-bono consulting services . Our business students are passionate about providing meaningful impact and want to apply their consulting skills, tools, and methodologies to advance the mandate of organizations.
